Akaka Falls is the most famous of the many waterfalls along the Hamakua Coast north of Hilo. The Hamakua Coast features spectacular scenery, rugged coastlines, and attractions such as the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden, one of the most beautiful collections of tropical trees, plants and flowers in Hawaii.

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is the Big Island’s top visitor attraction. The continuous eruption of the Kilauea Volcano since 1983 provides a fascinating view of the Earth’s geological evolution, not to mention a great light show.
